HIP-Cuyahoga Co-Chair interviewed on Here and Now radio program

National Public Radio host Robin Young did a piece for her show “Here and Now” on July 19th in Cleveland, Ohio, during the RNC. She examined the recent life expectancy maps that show differences between neighborhoods in the Cleveland area. Robin examined some of the causes for the differences in life expectancy, including neighborhood conditions that impact access to preventive health care, healthy food, resources in the neighborhood and environmental conditions that can lead to shorter lives for some and longer lives for others. Robin’s piece highlighted work by Neighborhood Family Practice to help patients learn about healthy choices available in their neighborhood. She interviewed a patient at Neighborhood Family Practice, and Dr. Heidi Gullett. The interview starts at the 25:05 mark of the podcast. Congratulations to Heidi for spreading the word about health equity.
