As you may know, one of HIP-Cuyahoga partners, Dr. Shari Bolen, Associate Professor of Medicine at MetroHealth/Case Western Reserve University, Center for Health Care Research and Policy, is part of a statewide initiative (CARDI-OH) to improve the cardiovascular health of Medicaid patients in Ohio beginning with control of hypertension.
The Ohio Cardiovascular Health Collaborative, or “CARDI-OH” is an initiative supported by the Ohio Department of Medicaid to develop a collaborative involving all 7 major Ohio academic medical centers (CWRU, OSU, OU, UC, WSU, NEOMED, and UT), Medicaid providers, and Medicaid insurers with the objective to expand the primary care team capacity to:
1) Prevent, diagnose and manage cardiovascular disease in Ohio’s Medicaid population and
2) Identify and address disparities in cardiovascular health care and outcomes affecting the Ohio Medicaid population.
On Friday, May 17th from 10-3 in Columbus , CARDI-OH is planning to hold their 2nd Annual Statewide Conference featuring Dr. LaPrincess Brewer from Mayo Clinic as the keynote speaker talking about engaging communities to improve cardiovascular health. It will be held at the Nationwide Hotel & Conference Center and the link below provides more information about the conference and a link for registration.
